Terms of Service
Last updated: June 1, 2026
Acceptance
By creating an account or using CircleNest you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Who can use CircleNest
You must be at least 16 to create your own account. Parents and guardians may create kid profiles for their children. Children under 13 are not permitted to register or log in on their own. Kids aged 13+ may receive their own login only when invited by a parent.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for the activity that happens under your account. Don't share your password or impersonate others.
Acceptable use
- Be kind. No harassment, hate speech, or unsafe behavior toward children.
- Don't upload illegal content or anything that violates someone's privacy.
- Don't try to break, scrape, or abuse the service.
- Profanity and sexually explicit language are not allowed in names, descriptions, messages, household list items, kid requests, future letters, or any other user-created content.
We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these rules.
Keeping kids safe
Kids only appear in circles, plans, and chats with adults a parent has approved. CircleNest enforces these trust gates in the database, not just in the interface.
Shared timeline links & yearbooks
When you share a kid's timeline collection or generate a yearbook PDF, CircleNest creates a public link that anyone with the URL can open without signing in. You are responsible for who you share these links with. You can revoke a shared collection at any time from the share screen; once revoked, the link will stop working.
Future letters
Future letters are written by you today and held until an unlock date you choose, which may be many years away. We will keep your letters available for as long as your account (and the recipient child's profile) exists, but we cannot guarantee delivery indefinitely and we do not recommend using future letters for legally binding, time-critical, or safety-critical messages. If you delete your account or the child's profile before the unlock date, the letter will be deleted with it.
Household lists
Items you add to your default shopping list or to custom household lists are visible to all members of your household. Requests your kids send may be accepted into the default shopping list by an adult. You are responsible for the content you add to lists.
AI Assistant
The in-app AI Assistant sends your prompt and minimal app context to third-party model providers (currently Google and OpenAI, via the Lovable AI Gateway) to generate a response. Don't include sensitive personal information in prompts. AI suggestions are informational only and are not professional, medical, legal, or safety advice.
Reports & moderation
You can report content or users you believe violate these Terms. We review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts. Reporter identity is kept confidential to our moderation team.
Notifications
If you opt in to push notifications, we'll send plan reminders, invites, and chat alerts to your device. You can turn them off any time from Profile → Notifications or in your browser settings.
Error reporting & analytics
To keep the app stable, crash and error data (stack traces, browser info, page URL, IP address) is sent to our error-monitoring provider (Sentry). No plan content or kid profile data is included.
We also collect product analytics (page views, feature usage, conversion funnels) via PostHog to understand how people use the app and improve it. No messages, plan content, or kid profile data is sent to analytics.
Beta software
CircleNest is currently in beta. The service is provided "as is" without warranties. Features may change and occasional downtime can happen. Please don't rely on CircleNest for time-critical or safety-critical decisions.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the app evolves. When we make material changes we'll update the date above and ask you to re-accept on next app load. Continued use after that means you agree to the updated Terms.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Account → Delete account. Deletion removes your profile, the kid profiles you parent, hosted plans, circles you created, and messages you sent.
